Designing custom-made furniture is not an easy art. In fact it takes both immaculate vision and unabated creativity to custom design for customers the interiors and décor that they wish for. The most challenging aspect of it is obviously understand what customers have in mind and to decode it and bring a room to reality in a way that pleases them best. And few have achieved this better than Melissa Collison over the past few years.
The inner rooms and the outside display carefully handled details warm-colored wooden paneling touches of color thin timber elements as blinds and facade decoration a smooth wood paneled ceiling in the kitchen slender steel trusses painted white in the rooms and classic accents of marble for the kitchen working areas.
Designed by Juma Architects the home has a wonderful first floor that is defined by its extensive and extravagant use of glass in the form of floor-to ceiling glass windows. The entire floor can be used either as a single flowing space or one can create several rooms using in-built partitions. While the use of the glass allows for lovely views of the sea not too far away the infinity pool simply takes the experience to a whole new level.
For the external structure both concrete and glass have been used which allow for both privacy and some wonderful views of the ocean that is not too far away. The spacious interiors feature beautiful wooden flooring ambient lighting and furniture and décor that is lavish and relaxing.
But is not just the spacious backyard that makes life here a constant vacation. The sleek and refreshing pool promises a cool dip every time things become a bit too hot to handle while a plethora of activities await you thanks to the mini-golf green paddle-tennis court and the bocce ball court. Yup this is pretty much like opening your backyard door and walking into a vacation at a cool resort.
While she happily admits that most of her work is intuition her designs seem both warm and exuberant and away from the modern trend of minimalism. Of course if needed Melissa Collison can work with that style as well … as some of the pictures showcase.
They say that all work and no play makes one go dull and pale. But at the home of Lisa and Michael Rubenstein there is pretty much of things taking a turn towards the dull and the mundane. This beautiful modern home by TRG Architects is not only a delight to live in with its plush interiors that are clad in cozy comfort but even the outdoors is equally appealing. It brings out the fun-filled kid in everyone with its lush green backyard that provides ample space for outdoor activities.
